I was going through a massive transition in my life and I felt like I needed a break away from everything. Music at the time felt like a distraction more than an enjoyment. There was no more stories I could tell through my music & I was going through a tough time and needed to give my full attention to what was going on. I felt the Lord telling me to stop music & put it on hold, I didn’t listen so everything around me just crumbled and came to a stand still. Then I listened.
During this break I got married, had time to focus on my marriage, pray A LOT to know what was the next step. I got a full time job as a Business development Executive working in a creative digital agency and leading bible study meetings, baptising people & doing discipleship. During this period I’ve come to understand what it really means to be a disciple of Christ. It feels like YEARS have gone by but were still in 2016! There were times I would go back and forth to God & ask can I go back to music & on a number of occasions he would say “No, not yet”. After awhile things settled down there was peace within & the desire to do music got even stronger & I felt a release to return. I sought council from my peers and they all agreed I was in the right place & frame of mind.
I’m so excited about the new music I’m going to be putting out. I have a new direction I want to go into, myself & the team are going for a whole re-brand & it’s going to blow people away. Everything must be done perfectly, I want to go far, I’m not afraid & I want to be the best me. I’m not doing things the way I used to in terms of how I market myself. Like I said I’m going for a whole new look & new sound which I believe is more me. I’ve come to embrace my full calling & artistry.
