Six of the coldest emcees around came together to remind the culture the importance of the art of rhyme. Open Season, featuring 2018 Rapzilla Freshman Joe Ayindé, Streetlight Sounds founder and award winning rapper J Crum, respected CHH veteran Nomis, 2019 Rapzilla Freshman Czar Josh, Hawaiian Grammy winner Thomas Iannucci, and 2017 Rapzilla Freshman Shiwan, is an exercise in lyricism: each rapper brings their own unique collection of flow and bars to the table, making for some of the most impressive rapping to be released this year. The competitive nature of hip hop is on full display here, as “Open Season” allows each rapper to try and steal the track with their wordplay and lyrics. Luckily, the true winners are the fans; “Open Season” showcases why each emcee is an exciting talent to watch for. If this track is any indication, they have very bright futures ahead of them, indeed.
