Nashville, TN — The name El Shaddai—a Hebrew name for God meaning “God Almighty”—has long symbolized strength, provision, and unwavering certainty. Now, vocal force, songwriter, and pastor San Franklin brings that message to life with her powerful new single, “El Shaddai.”
Co-written and produced by Franklin and John Matt Clark, “El Shaddai” is a deeply moving worship ballad that speaks to faith in the midst of unsure moments in life.
“I wrote El Shaddai in about 5 minutes, not knowing that my producer would have the last verse to summate the entire song – El Shaddai we’re trusting you,” Franklin explains. “This song is personal to the uncertainties that we as believers are facing in EVERY area of life. However, one thing I’m certain of is that whatever needs to be done, His name can do it! El Shaddai, TAKE CARE OF US”!
“El Shaddai” is available on all digital music outlets now and is her newest single to air on Gospel radio stations. The single is originally featured on Franklin’s 15-track debut album, THE FREE PROJECT, recorded live in Nashville and released by Enon Music Group. The album showcases her prolific songwriting and collaborations, blending traditional gospel with contemporary worship, jazz, and urban influences.
Franklin will be making appearances on select dates of Enon Music Group’s 2026 I STILL BELIEVE Tour. The tour will feature Franklin alongside label mates Zak Williams & 1 AKORD, Jamar Esaw & Triad 4 Christ, and Dr. Alyn E. Waller. San will be performing on upcoming tour dates in Harrisburg, PA, on May 22, and in Philadelphia, PA, on May 29, with more tourdates to be announced.
With a career spanning nearly four decades, Franklin has established herself as a sought-after vocalist, arranger, and vocal producer, contributing background vocals across Gospel, Country, and R&B. She has also served as senior pastor of The Love Center South Church in Nashville for more than a decade and is an advocate for autism, ADHD, mental health awareness, and domestic violence prevention.
Franklin’s artistry has also earned national recognition through her contributions to the GRAMMY® Award-winning Tennessee State University Aristocrat of Bands. Their album, THE URBAN HYMNAL, received the 2023 GRAMMY® Award for Best Roots Gospel Album, with Franklin featured on the track “Purpose.”
