Nigerian Gospel singer Ogocity has released a new single, “Thank You Jesus (Live),” marking her return to music after a two-year release hiatus.
Released on Friday, November 6, 2026, the song is the first of five tracks from a live recording project filmed in Abuja in 2024.
According to details accompanying the release, “Thank You Jesus (Live)” was inspired by Ogocity’s personal expression of gratitude for the life, sacrifice and finished work of Jesus Christ. The song centres on the Christian message of salvation and the believer’s response to God’s love.
It opens with the lines, “Thank You Jesus for living for me, Thank You Jesus for dying for me,” before moving into a declaration of worship: “Take all the glory, take all the praise, take all the honour, it belongs to You.”
Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Ogocity said Gospel music represents her service and response to what Christ has done for her.
“Gospel music, to me, is not about me. It’s about my service and my response to what Christ has done for me. In all situations, give thanks, for this is the will of God,” she said.
The five-track project was recorded in Abuja in 2024, following more than two months of rehearsals involving musicians and vocalists. Its release was delayed by technical difficulties and other setbacks.
Ogocity is expected to release four additional songs from the live recording project in the coming months.
Born into a musical journey that began at the age of three, Ogocity started her professional music career in 2017 after training as a lawyer. She transitioned from urban music to Gospel with “Citizen,” featuring Gerald Bishung, in 2022. Subsequent releases include “I Am,” featuring Dr. Flourish Peters, in 2023, and “God Good,” released in March 2024.
With the release of “Thank You Jesus (Live),” the singer begins a new phase of her music career, with further releases from the live project expected to follow.
“Thank You Jesus (Live)” is available on major digital streaming platforms.
