Lagos, Nigeria – The Nigeria International Gospel Music Awards (NIGMA) 2026 will hold on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the prestigious Agip Recital Hall, MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
The announcement was made by the Academy of Gospel Music in Nigeria, organizers of the awards, during a media briefing in Lagos. Now in its fifth edition, NIGMA remains one of Nigeria’s foremost platforms for celebrating excellence, creativity, impact, and positive influence in gospel music.
Speaking at the briefing, Kingsley Omoefe, Founder and Team Lead of NIGMA and Chief Responsibility Officer of Golden Heritage Limited, emphasized that the awards are designed to recognize and celebrate individuals and organizations whose contributions continue to advance gospel music and inspire lives across Nigeria and beyond.
“NIGMA is not a competition but a celebration of excellence, creativity, consistency, and positive impact in gospel music. We believe that recognizing outstanding contributions within the industry encourages growth, inspires future generations, and strengthens the role of gospel music as a force for hope, faith, and national development,” he said.
Beyond the awards ceremony, NIGMA 2026 will champion a nationwide Mental Health Awareness Campaign, using music, media, faith communities, and strategic partnerships to promote emotional wellbeing, hope, and healing, particularly among young Nigerians.
The event is expected to attract leading gospel artists, music ministers, media personalities, industry stakeholders, corporate organizations, faith-based institutions, and government representatives from across the country.
Guests will experience an evening of red-carpet glamour, live performances, special recognitions, networking opportunities, and inspiring moments that celebrate the transformative power of gospel music.
According to the organizers, NIGMA 2026 promises to deliver a world-class production while reinforcing the values of faith, excellence, culture, and social impact.
Furthermore, the Project PR Consultant for NIGMA 2026, Nsikak Daniels, described the awards as much more than a celebration of music and entertainment.
“NIGMA has evolved into a platform that transcends the glamour, sights, and sounds typically associated with award ceremonies. At its core, it is about inspiration,
transformation, and the power of music to positively influence lives. It is a gathering designed to encourage excellence, celebrate purpose, and inspire greater achievements within the industry and society at large,” Daniels stated.
He added that this year’s edition will showcase the very best of the gospel music industry in an atmosphere of excellence, creativity, and inspiration.
“The August event promises an unforgettable experience featuring outstanding performances, special recognitions, meaningful conversations, and memorable moments that will leave attendees inspired, enriched, and motivated long after the curtains close,” he said.
