Music: Aity Dennis – ‘I’ll Be There For You’

Meet Aity Dennis, a multi-lingual singer, worship leader and prolific song writer, rightly referred to as one of the foremost Music Ambassadors of Nigeria. With over 2000 songs in her repertoire, she has released nine albums. Aity has performed in concerts, conferences and seminars in several countries of the world. She has performed on the same stage with notable international acts like Donnie McClurkin, Lara George, Ron Kenoly, Sammie Okposo, Asu Ekiye, Alvin Slaughter, Hope Davis, Chevelle Franklin etc, and before Presidents, Governors and the crème of the Nigerian society. Thanks to her song writing dexterity, she was invited to write and perform Wind of Hope, the theme song for Mr. President’s biography (Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan). She has also had the joy of performing in the world’s most celebrated carol, 9999 Carol, hosted by her home state.

The songstress, who is so proud of her roots, speaks and sings in Annang, Ibibio, English and French. In recognition of the uncommon transformation witnessed in her home state, Aity proudly proclaims everywhere through her song that ‘A’ is no more for Apple, ‘A’ is now for Akwa Ibom. The artiste, who is passionate about using music as a tool for spiritual and national rebirth, has received several honours and awards for her music and videos including: Nigeria’s Outstanding Female Gospel Artiste of the Year, Niger Delta Forum Award of Excellence, Best Akwa Ibom Gospel Artiste of the year, Role Model for Youths Award, Excellence Award presented to her by the Akwa Ibom State Government, etc.

Aity organises a yearly concert tagged, Aity Dennis & Friends in which she leads her community to praise the giver of life as she disseminates her message of joy and hope in Christ through music. Her Foundation, Aity Music Foundation, is her way of reaching out to give back to her community as well as empower upcoming artistes.

With a master’s degree in Mass Communication and a first degree in French Language, Aity worked as a Television Producer, Advertising Practitioner and a newspaper and magazine Editor/Proofreader before becoming a recording artiste. Now, she is the Music Director and Associate Presiding Pastor of Sure Word Assembly International.

Aity is married to her friend-for-life and No. 1 fan, Dr. Dennis Inyang, the Presiding Pastor of Sure Word Assembly, Okota, Lagos, Nigeria, she resides in Lagos with her family.
