Houston, TX — Earnest Pugh is an Emmy Award-winning artist and a 2025 Stellar Award-winning vocalist for his album WORTHY IS THE LAMB (Live). Known for his incredible five-octave vocal range, Pugh is a multiple Dove Award-nominated artist with five #1 Billboard Chart-topping songs who has released 13 Gospel albums to date. With every musical offering, Pugh delivers unrestrained passion and superior vocal performance. He does this again with his newest single, “Send Your Rain,” a continuation and remix of one of his most popular songs, “Rain On Us.”
“Send Your Rain” evolved from an overwhelming crowd response at the end of one of Pugh’s concerts as he walked off stage.
Pugh explains. “I organically created this track as I was walking off stage and noticed that the audience was still engaged in the elevated atmosphere, chanting the hook of Rain On Us. I started a call-and-response vibe with my band and singers, integrating an upbeat tempo while chanting send your rain. The remix caught on like wildfire, ignited by people in that room.”
Pugh wrote “Send Your Rain” as a desperate plea or prayer request to God to show up like water in a desert in those moments when we find ourselves in unproductive seasons of life, feeling inadequate, broken, or depleted. “Those dark moments leave us desperately in need of God’s light, life, and love. I believe our outcry for rain compels Him to vindicate us immediately,” Pugh expresses.
Additionally, Pugh dedicates this song to the over 350k black women who lost their jobs when the current administration gutted DEI programs. His encouragement and reminder to these women are as the Bible declares: “No good thing will he withhold from his precious ones.” Psalm 84:11.
“Send Your Rain” is available now on all digital music platforms released by Blacksmoke Music Worldwide. The high-energy track features Nashville-based powerhouse choir Nate Bean and 4-Given.
“Working on this song was about more than just vocals—it was about shaping a sound that feels honest, powerful, and connected,” says Nate Bean, founder and choir master of 4-Given. “Every vocal stack was definitely intentional, and I’m proud of what we created with Earnest. He laid the foundation, and 4G definitely understood the assignment. This record is definitely a vibe!”
Earnest Pugh is dubbed Gospel’s Leading Man, with hit singles that include “I Need Your Glory” and “Your Glory-2 C U.” The Gospel music veteran is a recipient of the prestigious BMI Award for radio airplay.
