Born April 18, 1995 and raised in Nigeria, he moved to the United Kingdom with his family when he was 12 years old. As a multifaceted artist, Samuel first displayed his God-given talent and passion for music at the tender age of 7 in his home church. After producing original songs for musicals for several years, his music career kicked off in 2016 with his debut single, “Working on me”. Since then, CalledOutMusic has successfully released songs featuring the likes of “TY Bello” and productions with “Danny Duncan”, thus furthering his career up to his latest single “Love Around”. CalledOutMusic has also featured on tracks with Gil Joe – Real Quick Remix; Becca Folkes – Control; and the 2011 Mobo Award winner Triple O – Good Thing.
Following the succession of releasing numerous songs over the past 2 years (I Will Serve, Working on Me, You’re Mine, I Am Free, My Prayer, Love Around), CalledOutMusic has managed to acquire a combined tally of over 1Million views on Spotify, and 3.5Million views on YouTube with HFP Music as a distributor where his single “My Prayer” became his first song to reach a landslide of over 1Million views (a feat only held by a few UK Gospel Artists). Not only has he managed to establish himself on the “A Step Forward” Gospel chart as #1 for his hit song “I Am Free”, but CalledOutMusic has since been on a chain of triumph including being the “Breakthrough Artist of excellence” at the African Gospel Music and Media Awards 2018; “Best Song” (You’re Mine) at Premier Gospel Awards 2018 where he performed the title track; along with nominations for “Best Male” and “Best Song” at Tru Life Gospel Awards; and “UK Artist of the Year” at Gospel Touch Music Awards 2018.
His single “Love Around”, produced by Whiteblock Group challenges UK Gospel with its contemporary African sound. Contrasting from his previous music videos that were usually a depiction of a solo performance, this single presented its viewers with colours, energy and culture with the addition of dancers with an old school vibe, shot by renowned videographer Uvi Orogun. Continuing with the success of this, the “Love Around Challenge” had his supporters singing the song worldwide in their native language, with tributes in Lingala (Congo), Spanish, French, Dutch, Twi (Ghana), Yoruba (Nigeria), German, Italian, Korean and a special sign language version.
After 2 years of diligence, patience and hardwork CalledOutMusic hosted a headline concert for the first time in London on Nov. 10th 2018. CalledOut Live In London(#COLIL) definitely pulled out all the stops in creating a festival-like concert with its array of artists and diversity within the crowd. Supporting CalledOutmusic in creating this immense worship atmosphere, were Makpo, Rae, Deb Orah, Storm Stanley, Briggs not to forget friends from France, Nahoro, Payton Lamar from the states along with Phil Thompson from the US who in their own personal music style and language were able to create a brilliant show.
This event organised by HFP Music in partnership with Dorhema was salient in creating a safe zone where young adults could gather around and submerge deep into their faith, especially with the rise of crime within our society. With his transparent persona online, CalledOut has gained a mass youth appeal, placing himself in a position to influence the minds of young people. #COLIL diverted the negative attention surrounding the killings of youths and created this space for over 1,000 young people to escape and dwell in harmony, as people travelled from various cities. There was a drastic shift in the atmosphere as the audience waited to be ushered into the auditorium. The thirst and hunger to be part of an experience that brings people together in a place of worship was perceptible in everyone with their extravagant excitement prior to the opening of the event.
“It was more than just a show” was the status quo throughout the whole night. Many of the fans and artists described #COLIL more as a night of offering praise, rather than just a concert. This could be felt prior to the start of the event as the crowd were hyped, ready to sing, dance and celebrate from collecting tickets at the doors to enjoying every moment of the show.
Out of all, no one was more honoured and humbled than the man himself CalledOut Music, as during his performance he was brought to tears, simply in awe as he heard the voices of over a thousand people, not just singing his music but sharing a life changing experience and appreciate his journey. It was truly a night he will never forget.
As #COLIL was Calledout’s first headline show, it marked the end of an era for the young musician as all his single were adapted into what is ultimately his debut album titled “CALLEDOUTMUSIC THE COLLECTION”, building the foundation for a new and forthcoming album ‘In Due Time’ with his lead single “Love Around”.
In the space of 2 years CalledOutMusic has not only performed locally in the UK, but he has also managed to venture out to Europe, Africa and Canada and Amsterdam which included his first headline show at the ‘Theatre Paris Story’ in France.
