Zimbabwean Singer Emelda Tshuma releases debut album ”Kwayedza” (It has dawned) | @emeldamusic |

Kwayedza Album Cover‘Kwayedza’ is a Shona term which means ‘it has dawned’. The album title Kwayedza resonates strongly with a message of hope. Each song in the album inspires assurance that with God on your side, victory is certain in any circumstance. This urban contemporary album fuses a deep African rhythm and is guaranteed to take you on an uplifting gospel musical journey.

Kwayedza, the title track of the album, speaks of the dawning of a new day.
“…though weeping endures for a night, joy comes in the morning.” (Psalms 30v5)

The Anthem is a Hip Hop Praise Song for anyone who is proud to be a Christian. This track will get you waving your Christian flag high.

Better Days, like Kwayedza, gives assurance of brighter days regardless of what challenges you may be going through.

Nights Lights is a lift-me-up song. A ‘night light’ is a star and the message is that you are a star, you’re born to shine. You light up the sky!

There are times when people may put you down or when you are in situations that overwhelm you. Final Say is that song that boasts of God’s greatness and his ability to solve such situations all the time.

‘Aneni’ is a Shona verb which means “He (God) is with me”. This jazzy mellow sing-a-long rejoices in the knowledge that God is with us and will never leave or forsake us. (Hebrews 13v5)

Huyai is a worship song which came to me in a dream. Huyai means come.
The song simply says come now Holy Spirit and fill us!

Ndaona Jesu (I’ve seen Jesus) speaks of the priceless love and sacrifice that Jesus made at the cross. It talks of the revelation of what the cross means to a believer. It is worthy to close the album as it reminds the believer of where our faith hinges on – Christ dying for our sins and giving us a new lease of eternal life!

I hope this album will be enjoyable, meaningful and be a blessing to your life.
