The year 2018 is gradually drawing the curtain with just few weeks left as we go into the new year. Christian hip hop artistes in Nigeria also didn’t stop what they know how to do best as they all brought their A game into every music they put out this year. In this article, we’ll be talking about few Christian hip hop artistes whose
song(s) rocked the year 2018 in no particular order.

– Kelar Thrillz
Kelar is one artiste whose songs did well in the course of the year. The indigenous rapper brought smile to the face of hip hop lovers when he announced his comeback with #YARBSEASON series which had song covers like ‘Identity, God’s Plan and Guo Bible’ which he also dropped videos for. Shortly after these releases, the artiste
dropped the hit ‘NEBO’ (Neighbor). He flows conveniently in English, Yoruba and Igbo rhymes as he talks about being joyful in the presence of God. The song which he also released a video for was produced by Plice.

– Gaise
Gaise Baba as he is fondly called is another artiste on this list. The artiste who has lot of songs to his credit went solo and came back stronger this year with a surprise track collaborating with hip hop lads in the industry. He reams up with multi- talented artistes like Angeloh, Tobi Toun, Manolo and Oluwanifise as he professes his
Christian faith and being the light of the world. He employed the help of his longtime producer ‘Tesla’ on the track. Since its release, the song has been on replays in churches and events. He also backed it up with #LightOut concert which he took to schools in Lagos State.

– Limoblaze
Since his inception into the music industry, Limo has never backed down in churning out great music and this he did again this year with several releases he had. From releasing singles like Jesus or Nothing (JON), Daalu ft. Spokesman, Another Man ft. Echow Clay and London based Nigerian rapper S.O. He released his sophomore album ‘Before Now’ which had hit tracks on it. Not forgetting his recent track which dropped on his birthday titled ‘Life is Easy’ featuring American female singer Sstedi (Steady). All of his releases so far this year have all been hits after hits.

– Bouqui
Female rapper ‘Bouqui’ came back fully prepared after leaving the music scene for years. She caught everyone unawares with her new release ‘Victory Song’ ft. Angeloh. Shortly after, she dropped another single ‘King David’ with the same artiste and later released ‘Demo’ with him too. The female rapper released videos for these three (3) songs and also launching her return to the industry with an EP ‘Unstoppable’ with Angeloh few weeks ago. Every of these songs since its release have received massive airplay on radio and television stations.

– TnJ
Tega and Jesus (TnJ) popularly referred to as ‘The Gem King’ is another artiste on the list with his current hit song. The track titled ‘Riches In Glory’ #RIG is one of the wavy trap songs right now as he fuses his rap perfectly well using the names of few Nigerian banking institutions. The track was released by the rapper and On-Air Personality (OAP) to celebrate his birthday. It was produced and engineered by Frankie Free.

– Oluwatomi/Oba Reengy
Jesus is Light (JIL) Nation acts are another artistes whose songs have been blazing hot this year. Oluwatomi dropped ‘Itan’ this year to celebrate his birthday and to keep people on the wake on his coming project ‘Agba Ijebu’. Oba Reengy on the other hand also teamed up with Producer ‘T-Babz’ and they made a joint titled ‘Miracle Service’. Shortly after this, these two artistes (Reengy/Oluwatomi) teamed up together on a T-Babz
produced beat as they released a ground breaking joint titled ‘Ibile Jesu’ which talks about their radicality about the gospel of Christ. The tune since then has gained acceptance from all quarters.

-Gamie
Rapper,poet and producer ‘Gamie’ has also done well with his releases. He brought versatility in every songs he dropped. From dropping ‘That Typa’ Love’ to powerful spoken word videos MAN-INFESTATION, Social Media, Substance Abuse which generated reactions and the recent one ‘My Hope’. Gamie is definitely one artiste that deserves to be on this list as he keeps bringing in the fire.

– Snatcha
Snatcha, one of the acts from the defunct two-man group ‘Rooftop MCs’ is another artiste that deserves a spot here. The rapper despite staying far away abroad still releases songs that connects with his fans everywhere in the world. He released the track ‘Reign’ earlier this year and ‘Shame’ alongside former reality TV show Project Fame contestant ‘Ayoola’. The song blended in Afro tune talks about all power belonging to Jesus. Thereafter, he released a new tune in November with Midnight Crew member and CEO Spaghetti Records ‘Mike Abdul’ in the song titled ‘All The Every’ which was produced by his favorite producer EgarBoi.

– Legendary David Judah
Conrad Musik latest signee ‘David Judah’ is another artiste on this list. The rapper got noticed and penned down a label deal this year and releasing the hit track ‘Feel Okay’ and also dropping the visuals. The song talks about counting your blessings and being grateful for the little things God has done.

– TB1
The Blessed One (TB1), head honcho of the rap group Believers Loveworld Rap Nation (BLW Rap Nation) and Seven Fold Music Artiste proved his versatility again with the year’s releases. He dropped ‘Voice Of The Lord’ alongside its video which aired on TV stations. He also added to his track record ‘I’m Blessed’ which was produced by popular producer Mayo Muziq.

– Angeloh
Hip hop act ‘Angeloh’ is another fellow that deserves the credit with his mind blowing tunes. The Rapzilla Freshmen nominee of 2017 released his single ‘You Said’ early this year which topped charts for a long time.. This also earned him various features with Gaise, MsEva Johnson, T Babz, Bouqui (featuring on all songs on her 8-track EP).
