Washington, DC — It’s been another banner year for Washington DC area worship artist Javon Inman. His independent CD release HEART OF A WORSHIPER birthed radio hits “Redeemer” and “Come Home” and has been a catalyst to his thriving music ministry. The singer/songwriter has netted a series of honors and music awards this year and is being set apart as one of the nation’s leading psalmist.
The 2013 Rhythm of Gospel Awards were handed out on July 27 in Jacksonville, FL. Javon took home two awards – Praise & Worship CD of the Year for his CD HEART OF A WORSHIPER and Praise & Worship Song of the Year for his radio chart topping song “Redeemer”. “I was dumbfounded! I didn’t see that coming and all I could do was cry tears of joy,” Javon expresses. “It’s all about The Lord, Ministry, and saving souls! I dedicated that moment to my parents and grandparents for raising me in God’s Word and holiness.”
Before going to Jacksonville to the Rhythm of Gospel Awards, Javon made a trip to Chesapeake, VA. On Friday, July 12, Javon was chosen to receive the 2013 Gospel Blue Mic – Christian Jukebox Radio Artist of the Year Award during the 4th Annual Independent Gospel Alliance Conference. “I praise God for CJB Radio because they were one of the first stations to play my music, they believed in the God in me,” Javon shares. HEART OF A WORSHIPER boasted three songs that reached #1 status on CJB Radio charts.
“We presented the CJB Radio Artist of the Year award to Javon Inman because he has blessed our hearts with his music and his spirit, states Simone Henry, President of CJB Radio. “He has proven to be a true worshipper of the Lord on and off the stage and that worshipful spirit is reflected in his music.”
Earlier this spring, Javon participated in the Radio One Praise DC 104.1 FM “DC’s Next Inspirational Star” Contest in which he won and was voted on to the national competition.
