Praisetek Gospel Music Awards, an appreciative award aimed at encouraging gospel artistes for their good works in the society and spreading the gospel through music, was a blast on a night that attracted thousands to the glamorous event hosted by Lurine Cato (the 2013 MOBO winner, best Gospel act) and Isaiah Raymond (TV Presenter and the founder of the renowned UK Gospel group ‘Raymond & Co).

Shoggy who could not attend the awards on the night, was shooting the music video for emujow but sent a representative to collect the award on his behalf, said; “This is the first ever music award I have collected so it means so much to me. I thank God Almighty for his grace and I appreciate the encouragement and enablement received from my mentor, Rev Tim Omotoso. This is like a dream!”

Among the award winning artistes on the night included; MOBO Best Gospel act nominee Faith Child, London Community Choir, Nollywood actress Blessing Olubanjo, Evelyn Obahor and many more.

Shoggy Tosh (born in Birmingham, United Kingdom on 9 January 1974) is a multi-award winning publisher, producer, author and television presenter mentored by Tim Omotoso. Shoggy is the founder of The Official Stars Homepage Magazine, TV & PR and also a British/Nigerian rapper. ​​On 9 January 2014 (on Tosh’s fortieth birthday) he released his debut rap single, “emujow” featuring Shady Blue and Jamaican gospel dancehall star, Dunamis Reignz.

The song was written and arranged by Tosh (with the exception of a verse and the hook) and produced by Pastorchild at the 709 Studios in London. All profit made from the song goes to charity. “emujow” which means, ‘dance’ in yoruba language, has had airplay and featured on radios and blogs worldwide (especially in the Caribbean, Nigeria, parts of Africa, United Kingdom and Europe) since its release. In the first week of February 2014, the song topped the reverbnation ‘dance’ chart at number 1 in London, peaked at number 1 in the whole of the United Kingdom and number 55 in the world. emujow can be described as a rap afro pop tune, fused with a bit of ragga and soul. It is a song that would not only nudge the body to move to the classic beat, but also the soul.
