”To celebrate gospel, with the Nigerian gospel music industry in focus. Gospel Vibes on Silverbird’s Rhythm 93.7fm Port Harcourt has released an audience participatory and an expert panel voted list of its Best 20 Naija Gospel Hits of 2014. Hash tag #Best20NaijaGospelHits2014.
The show hosted by the passionate & creative OAP, Geoff Q took place on live radio on Sunday morning Feb 8 at 8am. It featured gospel music industry experts and enthusiast_ Zubi (OAP), Dan D Humourus (Comedian), Philip Auquo (Blogger), Justin (Blogger), DJ Clergy Chris (Gospel DJ) and audience participation.
As part of the criteria, a gospel song on the list must contain music and lyrics and must be either a new song or a song first or still achieving prominence during the eligibility year 2014.
Seventy per cent (70%) of the songs have National presence/appeal while about thirty per cent (30%) are songs with prominence in Port Harcourt & the South South region.
The debate was quite intense but finally a decision was reached and a list is now officially released. Check out the list:
