Phillip O’Rourke releases debut EP entitled “I Made It” that inspires hope. The songs featured from this gifted singer, songwriter and producer are a testimony of his journey from tragedy to victory; a celebration through music and lyric.
After achieving what some would consider success, Phillip found himself empty, confused, suicidal and addicted. After enrolling in and completing Teen Challenge, a Christian rehabilitation program, he began to put the pieces of his life back together and discovered a new purpose in life and in music: To help others like himself believe again, to have faith again, and to simply hold on again. The EP title track “I Made It” is much more than just a song title; it is a declaration for all who have conquered and have come out on the other side of their own personal storm.
As a musician and Worship Leader, Phillip O’Rourke steps into the spotlight with an intentional platform of positive, encouraging music and a story that makes his lyrics much more than just words – but reality. This highly anticipated 6 song EP demonstrates the versatility and depth of his musicianship. The first single “Better Than You Realize – feat. Nicholas Sherrod” broke both christian & gospel music stereotypes with a nod to contemporary R&B through a lyrical ballad which makes us realize that life is more than our immediate circumstances. Showing his diversity with current uptempo radio single “Don’t Wait – feat. Angela Birchett,” Phillip continues to break down musical boundaries and proves that good music still wins.
