Music: Yemy – “Erujeje”, “Iye” & “My Treasure” + Lyrics

Meet Yemi Olatunji (Yemy), a prolific singer, songwriter and a worshiper, Yemy’s music could best be described as Afro/urban contemporary music, while some people call it Trado Contemporary music. The name of his music ministry is “The Praising Xtian” (TPX) which creates an atmosphere of worship, praise and Edification in Gods presence. He has been a praise worship leader for several years which has blessed so many lives. He was born in Ibadan city in Oyo state, a first child of 5 in the family and an indigin of Esa Oke, a town in Osun State Nigeria . Finished from Sijuade nursery/pry school Ile Ife, school of science and then progressed into The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU)  where he finished from Microbiology department. And then served in Abia state for his NYSC, and that was where his album work started from .

He’s presently a member of a Professional body called Chattered Institute of Environmental Health UK (CIEH UK). He became aware that he could sing at the age of 8, Although he was playing trap drums in church all along too both in his church (The Apostolic church TAC) and outside back then. He has been a music director for many churches till date, he really started writing and performing at small gatherings and concerts in 1996 as a Jazziest and an accapella singer in (Restoration boys Jazz band/ Beyond the doubt accapella grp).

He held his first and second concert in 2005 and 2010. Part of his professional discovery as a gospel singer include the stage of an historic concert being held every year at OAU (living spring festival).

His Debut Album is titled UNMOVABLE, and off the album we bring you 3 tracks that are already making waves all around the Country, Tracks: Erujeje (nominated for National gospel awards.)My Treasure: dedicated to mothers and IYE (zoe, the song of 1930s) he’s fond of two slogans ” Praise Jesus to get raised” and ” Nothing can give me joy and fulfillment like Gospel Music”.

IYE TRACK
The Story: Iye is directly linked to John 3:16 where it talked abt the life of God, IYE =ZOE=LIFE OF GOD. The track is expressed exactly the way revival songs were being sang by the first set of revivalist in Nigeria back in the 1930s by the likes of Prophet Ayo Babalola, bringing back the old time religion and emphasizing Jesus as the same yesterday today and for ever, they used to preach the gospel around in those day by the means of the bell (Agogo igbala)
