Dublin-based 11 year-old singer Yoma Dodo has left an indelible mark on the year 2015 with the release of the single “Don’t Doubt the Lord”. Many were astonished at the level of faith, needless to talk about the artistry and creativity Yoma demonstrated with the song.
With the official release of the song in Nigeria last May, Yoma followed in quick successions with the announcement and teaser for the video of the song. Finally she sojourns with the release of the video for “Don’t Doubt the Lord” this 4th day of June 2015.
The song was born out of her mum’s experience when she had issues with her vocal cords but was eventually healed by God. Yoma uses the song to inspire and encourage people to trust in God even in dire situations as depicted the case of the characters in the video. She tells a compelling story of an overshadowing dark cloud hemmed by the glimmer of hope – a silver lining – with the video.
The video was shot on location within the premises of Christ Ambassador Christian Centre, Finglas, Dublin and was directed by Hermillio Opel. “Don’t Doubt the Lord” was produced by Chris Kabs.
Yoma developed a passion for music at a young age with singers such as Chrisette Michelle, Sinach, Frank Edwards, Tasha Cobbs, and more shaping her style and prowess. She is presently a member of the CACC youth choir and the St Teresa primary school choir – the Superstars in Dublin.
