Beautifully Bold and Unapologetically Impassioned describes Chicago Singer/Songwriter/Woman of Worship – Tina Jenkins Crawley – a spirited powerhouse of a vocalist who is a part of The Blacksmith Project family of artists. Her newest single, Thank You Lord, off her debut album, The Longest Journey, continues to rise in the top 100 of the Billboard Gospel Music Charts.
Her debut album, The Longest Journey, was definitely one of her longest journeys as she began hitting the ground running in 2000. In 2012, The Longest Journey remained No. 1 on the UK Soul Chart for four consecutive weeks. This album offers up Inspirational Jazz/Soul and Sunday morning music with the lyrical likings of powerful Inspirational Soul Artists such as Jill Scott, Ledisi, Esperanza Spalding and CeCe Winans.
She has had the privilege of sharing the stage with many gifted artists, both sacred and secular, including Mavis Staples, Paul Rodgers of Bad Company, Anthony David and internationally acclaimed violinist, Roddy Chong. She has lent her voice to music videos (with artists R. Kelly and Celine Dion), commercials and a myriad of special features. Recently, Tina with her LKO band mates opened for Joan Rivers & shared the stage with Lionel Richie. They were also featured on The Style Network singing at Nascar Racer Kyle Bushs wedding.
Earlier this year, Tina shot the music video for one of the tracks Suddenly and it was the feature song for the independent film, ‘Jump In’. Most recently, Tina had the privilege of being one of the guest artist for Speech of Arrested Development in Atlanta, Georgia for an Arts & Entertainment Conference and while doing a radio interview in St. Louis, Missouri, had the incredible opportunity to sing background for Hip Hop Artist Nelly at a private event.
Tina began singing at a very young age in her hometown of Springfield, IL. and later would realize that singing and songwriting were actually what she was called to do. Tina says, I realized that Gods purpose in me was greater than my voice. Since responding to that calling, she has been blessed with the ability to reach the hearts & souls of people around the globe performing internationally in several different languages (English, German and Spanish). In addition to the U.S., her songs are now played worldwide on Radio and Internet Stations, Pandora, XM/ Sirius and the like.
Tina is a faithful member of the Chicago Church of Christ and is a Guest Worship Leader at various churches throughout the United States. In 2000, she won the Gospel Music Associations Music in the Rockies award for Songwriting. Her album has already been called the freshest take on Inspirational Music in years.
