Meet Sola Shittu popularly known as SMS, he hails from Ekiti state, west of Nigeria. SMS as he is fondly called, grew up at different times in several parts of the south-western part of the country and partly in the south south, Port-Harcourt to be precise. He is a musician, song-writer, performing artiste and a media practitioner. He is also essentially a gospel minister with an undying passion to take the goodnews beyond church walls to the people on the streets.
According to SMS, he said “Music for me has always been like the core of my existence, dating back into childhood as far back as i can remember. Having done quite a number of several artistic things like acting, stand up comedy, MC, event-planning and so on, I concluded that music for me appears the most potent channel to really express my heart and vision to the world”.
In November 14th, 2011, SMS launched his debut self-produced 10 tracks album titled ‘SENT: THE COMMISSION’ which have been enjoying monstrous airplay across several radio stations in some states in Nigeria including Lagos. The fast spreading album contains songs of smart and insightful lyrics expressed in different genres of music, so as to satisfy individual preferences while still passing my message across and entertaining the listener at the same time.
