In 2004, five high school teenagers began the school year meeting each other for the first time in choir class at Central High School, Little Rock, Arkansas. They didn’t realize they were apart of God’s purpose. They would sing & harmonize together in choir class and decided to enter the schools yearly Tiger-fest. They agreed with the name J D K T, the first letter of each persons name from the original members of the group. They won 1st place in that years Tiger-fest 2005. The next year school two members move away to different schools, the remaining members decided to leave the name JDKT the same but time would bring new changes.
Soon a new meaning to the letters of J D K T (Jesus Does Kind Things) would be birth after Cynthia Harris talked to them about Jesus Christ and becoming their Manager, the mother of Jasmine Massey. Valerie Coakley would sing temporarily and Porcha Alexander would be the newest member after two more members move away to college. The year 2006 & 2007 JDKT received a certificate of appreciation for winning first place in Worldfest from The Mayor of the city of Little Rock, Arkansas. In April 2011 JDKT would be placed in the regular rotation from radio on Hallelujah FM 106.7 in L.R. Arkansas songs being played from their new demo cd.
Diamond Brown(song writer) 21 yrs. old. sings, alto & soprano, Jasmine Massey(song writer) 21 yrs. old. sings alto, soprano & tenor and Porcha Alexander(song writer) 20 yrs. old. sings alto, tenor & is a scatter. They have been together for 7 years and their style is acapella with a smooth harmonized gospel blend. Determined to reach everyone through song and praise. They are JDKT.
