I have learnt in my new season that you have to know what it feels like to be anxious for everything before you can turn to God realizing that you can be “Anxious For Nothing” (Philippians 4:6). A lot of times we feel we can do it on our own but just know that you can never be too proud to ask for a helping hand. How much more turning to God for help? After all, He can do it better than anyone else.
Artist Profile: Multi-award winning, Sydney based gospel artist “D.I.S.C.I.P.L.E” always looks to push boundaries in his art form of Christian Rap and Contemporary Gospel Music. Lyrics
Verse 1:
We are in an evil world
The filthy swine have gulped up all our pearls
For the sake of fame people sell themselves
Wanting heaven but you’re given hell
All these wolves are nicely dressed
False teachers try to impress
Man they’re smiling all the time but have no form of godliness
That’s why everybody’s depressed
They are working based on their flesh
Man I pray to God to intervene and save us from this mess (You Say!!)
Chorus
Don’t be anxious for nothing
Don’t be anxious for nothing
Through all prayer, supplication
Don’t be anxious for nothing
[x4]
Verse 2:
I know that we are running out of time
Abraham’s blessings are really hard to find
What is bound really seems hard to bind
Do I sound out of line!? (Um?)
I see God’s children making war
Too much bloodshed being poured
Man this wickedness is infinite, don’t wanna be here anymore
I should be praying some more
And rely on oaths God swore
While I cling onto this boat I hope that He’ll calm the storm
Chorus
Don’t be anxious for nothing
Don’t be anxious for nothing
Through all prayer, supplication
Don’t be anxious for nothing
[x6]
Verse 3:
I know these end times are the toughest
And the troubles here are the hardest
They make you wanna pop some pills and make you say “Man! Stuff it!”
Look at where your mind lands
Want to end your life, have a final dance
And the peeps you have all around you, you find they have no substance
Faith is just all broken
Everybody’s doing them
You’re calling out in hope for help but it echoes to the open
Every road brings frustration
Sick of sitting with the congregation
Meanwhile, all along, God says He’s been waiting
Chorus
Don’t be anxious for nothing
Don’t be anxious for nothing
Through all prayer, supplication
Don’t be anxious for nothing
[x6]
