Jason Joshua Rembert a.k.a, S.O.G.(son of God), was born to the late Henry James Rembert Sr and the lovely Ora Dean Rembert. Holiness was the lifestyle of the Rembert house as well as their church, New House of Prayer, where his father was the pastor. After the death of his father, in April of 1999, the lack of leadership in Jason’s life was evident and he eventually turned to drugs, alcohol, violence and making money. In Jason’s words, “The streets feared me and made me feel powerful.”
Jason enlisted into the US Army at seventeen years of age and became a veteran of the Iraq war. After showing dedication, leadership and determination Jason was promoted from a Private to an E-4 Specialist. While in the military many soldiers sat with Jason at night and he shared the life of Jesus with them.
Shortly after Jason returned from the Iraq war he resumed his previous activities until 2008 when suffered a near fatal incident and gave his life to The Lord Jesus Christ. He then joined the local church of his sister, Trumpet in Zion fellowship and was a faithful member for four years. It was there where he began to write, record and perform at concerts under the stage name “Church Boi”. Ready for family life, Jason met his song writing wife, Melanie of Auburn, Alabama and they were soon married.
Jason and Melanie have a beautiful family with the addition of three children Paris, John, and Asia Rembert. They currently attend Word of Truth Ministries and are growing in grace daily. After a four year absence from music to focus on his family, Jason Rembert has returned to the stage under the new name “S. O. G”. Jason carries a new sound, anointing, life ministry and message!
Jason is currently working on his new album called “Kingdom Citizen!” In Jason’s words, “It is my wife and my sincerest prayer and hope that lives be forever changed by this album and chains are broken and shackles vanished…yes…this album.” He goes on to say “I pray people will allow The Lord Jesus to come in and be their personal savior from the music, spirit and lyrics laid on this album in Jesus name”!
Jason it set to release this new album July 4, 2014 and it promises to be a blessing. Jason lives by the mantra “May all follow the peace and grace found in Jesus.”
