Jason Bethel, visionary of J. Bethel & Spoken For, was born on December 20, 1979 in Detroit, Michigan to the union ship of Pastor Gregory A. Bethel and First Lady Elect Doreen Bethel. He began playing music at a very early age starting with the drums. At ten years old, he began writing songs. Listening to his father, at age 14, he became the church pianist. He is currently an ordained Minister and serving as Minister of Music at Word of Light Christian Center, where his father is the Senior Pastor.
In 1999, while attending Tiffin University, Jason sang with the touring vocal jazz group, “Up In The Air”. During his matriculation at Tiffin, he was instrumental in starting the school’s first gospel choir along with Winston Johnson and Imelia Collins. In 2002, along with Winston Johnson, Jason produced his first album: “This is Your Time”, for the group, “G.A. Bethel & Praize”.
In 2012, God saw fit for Jason to take his ministry to another level. God led Jason to take his gifts into the studio for his own project. Not knowing at the time what God had in store, he would work with some of the best vocalists and musicians in gospel music today. Musicians like: Ronald “CJ Alexander, Kenneth” Kenny Rocket” Morris, James Derrick Sorrell Jr., David Buford, Joe Otis, DeSabata Robinson, Alan “Snoop” Evans II, Nick Stone, Lawrence Washington, and D’angelos “ Dflat” Stephens. He’s also worked with top vocalists such as, Sunday’s Best Winner: Tasha Page-Lockhart, Nikki Nicole Stephens, LaToya Nakima Williams, John Houston, just to name a few.
In 2013, things were made clear. The ministry that God was birthing into Jason would be called “J. Bethel & Spoken For” an innovative, energetic, God driven Gospel group.
J.Bethel & Spoken For is taking the nation by storm! They have just released a maxi single with songs including: “I Lift My Hands”, “Worthy of All Myself”, and “Just Another Day”, from their freshman, upcoming CD titled:”All In”. Although this is their first solo project, the maxi single is already receiving critical acclaim from all over. The songs are already said to have you worshiping and praising the Lord all throughout your day. J.Bethel & Spoken For, will minister to you in whatever state you are in.
