That was the command of Elisha the prophet when there was a need for the king to receive from the Lord and Elisha needed to prophesy.Scripture says in” 2kings 3:15(KJV):
But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.
He asked for a minstrel to come minister before the Lord. Ministering to the Lord releases His presence and in His presence is your answer. In the Holy Bible, it is written that at the appearance of God mountains (challenges) melt as wax (Psalm 97:5). Examples abound in scriptures on the role of musicians in bringing releasing the glory of God for the benefit of God’s people. The healing, delivering and inspirational power of music cannot be overemphasized. worthy of mention here is this scripture 1 Samuel 16:16:
“Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well”.
Notice that the right kind of music releases wellness. That has not changed today. For the word of God is God and we know that God does not change by His word. The right kind of music today still releases Godly deliverance to man.
With challenges in life .. the lord sure gives us a song for the season it could be a song of victory such as we see in Exodus 15 where the prophet Moses and Miriam sang alongside with the children of Isreal:
“I will sing to the Lord,
for he is highly exalted.
Both horse and driver
he has hurled into the sea”
Oh! how I love the lyrics of the song above. Every week here, we will start a new series titled #Lyricsthatinspire.
