Feature: Artiste/Fan Reacts to the News of Mali Music Going ‘Mainstream’ (Secular), Shares Her Experience

Mrs. M. WrightFew days ago, we posted an interview of Mali Music confirming that he has gone Mainstream (Secular). And from the feedback we got, it seems not too many of his fans are happy with the decision. But, one Artiste Mary “B.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l.  ” Wright, who is also a fan of Mali, took same decision sometime in her career and have decided to share her testimony/experience. Below is her story…

‘I can relate to Mali Music, in so many ways, because I too am, at the root of me, a Gospel singer, with mainstream/secular music appeal and influences and a desire to reach the entire world, with inspirational, life-changing music. I was like Mali Music and so many aspiring Gospel/Christian recording artists, who come to a fork in the road, on this music journey, where you are faced with the choice of continuing on the righteous path and having faith that it will pay off, after while, or going down that unrighteous, dark, broad path that leads to instant notoriety and fame and fortune and, eventually, destruction.

For about two years, I took the latter, dark path and found myself in a world that used and abused my gift and talents, that didn’t really care about me, but, instead, about what it could get out of me. I, eventually, met and married a man that abused me physically, mentally, verbally, sexually, emotionally, psychologically, etc.

Today, I am back on the narrow, righteous path, and married to a man that compliments and supports my gifts and calling and I his. Together, we co-write and produce Inspirational Soul music, which I define as life music, with an inspirational message, sang from the soul. That is the type of music that Mali Music and other so-called Gospel recording artists, today, write and produce.

I pray that Mali Music will read this comment, reexamine himself and his music and re-brand himself as an Inspirational Soul singer, and not an R&B/Secular singer. Regardless of what he says in interviews, I know that he doesn’t feel 100% comfortable, being categorized as an R&B/Secular artist. Neither do I, which is why I had to come up with a new genre of music that best describes the type of music that I create and perform.
