NIGERIA: Portharcourt based Non-Governmental organization Exodus 17 Twelve Foundation has rolled out plans for this year’s edition of ‘’A Million Praise, A Million Worship’’ Music Concert, and a free health care program for the people of Egbokor Community in Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Edo State.
Over 1000 persons are expected to benefit from the free medical outreach expected to take place on November 12th, 2016 , at Osaretin Primary School, Egbokor Village, Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Edo State, while the music concert will take place on Sunday, 13th Nov. 2016 at the Oba Akenzua Cultural Centre, Airport Road, Benin City.
The organization is born out of a vision drawn from the 17th chapter of Exodus and the 12th verse —- “But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.”
Speaking with newsmen, the Lead Coordinator, Mr. Osagie Kingsley said ‘’We are a registered, non-governmental organization and our mission is to support pastors and missionaries in the rural and under developed communities. – Advance the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We have been in existence since 2012, and our focus has been to support the spread of the gospel in rural areas. This focus is hinged on the fact that there are certain peculiar logistics and traditional/cultural challenges that impede the spread of the gospel in these areas. By God’s grace, the Foundation has succeeded in supporting numerous various pastors and missionaries from different churches in Nigeria.
We have today 53 pastors/missionaries on the payroll of the foundation. As a follow-up to this, in 2015, the Foundation commenced an empowerment initiative for wives of pastors in rural areas of the country through granting of financial assistance to enable them start up micro- and small-scale businesses.
The Rural Pastors’ Wives Empowerment Initiative (RPWEI) aims at helping these women become successfully self-employed through a combination of well-tailored training, dedicated follow-up and various other special supports for them. This will enhance the standard of living of their families, and the community also stands to benefit.
Since the commencement of the RPWEI, the Foundation has trained twenty-five (25) identified pastors’ wives, and have also given financial assistance to these Women to start their own businesses.
As part of our enlightenment and public awareness effort, the Foundation organizes an event tagged “A Million Praise, A Million Worship” musical concert held once a year in selected cities across the country, which attracts gospel artists and comedians from far and near.
The “A Million Praise, A Million Worship musical concert” started in Warri in 2014 and in 2015 we were in Port Harcourt.
This year the “A Million Praise, A Million Worship musical concert” goes to Benin City at Oba Akenzua Cultural Centre, Airport Road, on Sunday 13th November 2016.
The concert this year will welcome Joe Praize, Samsong, Evang. Jerry Ekpekuro, Victor Atenaga, Mr and Mrs Iyamu, and others as our guest and the concert is open to the public and free.
For the funding of the Foundation, the core team members put resources/funds together to run the Foundation. The Foundation also has some partners who support in one-way or the other. Also, for our major events, we partner with other organizations/individuals to lighten the load- we believe that one kobo saved can be used to impact more lives.
Our Next Level/Forecast God is stretching us to an incredible new level.
We are hoping to increase the number pastors from the rural areas on our payroll as well as empower more pastors’ wives.
We are also looking at awarding scholarship support to the pastor’s children.
Organize seminal/training for beneficiary of the scheme’’.
