Music: David Pinks – “The Old Me”

Born and raised in Harlem, David Pinks literally grew up in the Boys Choir of Harlem. He called it his “second home.” He spent long hours rehearsing with the world-famous choral group, and for his effort, he traveled far and wide to perform. But hard work was not the only price David had to pay for choir life. At 16, the state of New York found David’s sexual abuser who was the Boys Choir of Harlem’s director of counseling, guilty. At 20, David went public in his first interview with ABC Nightline and began his road from being a victim to becoming a victor.

In a short period of time, David then went on to produce music for many of today’s top artists and TV shows. Always having a heart after God, David realized he wasn’t satisfied living a life for himself and made a full commitment to turn his life around and live it for God. David’s intertwined his passion for music and commitment to God, to be of service and serve as an inspiration and an example that anyone can overcome.
