Singer, songwriter, radio host, Chef, interior designer, and makeup artist, Blair Monique Walker has released her much anticipated inspirational single ”Hold On”.
Blair comes from a family of entertainers. Music and comedy was always the root of her family tree. A tree blossoming with the marriage of 2 cultures, which many believe makes Blair who she is today. Being half Sicilian and half African American inevitably exposed her to a plethora of music styles.
She expressed an extreme interest in music at the age of 2. The story simply goes, she grabbed a wooden spoon, stood on the coffee table in her family’s living room and began to sing. This defining moment ignited her passion. Her parents supported her dreams to be a star and made sure she went to schools that would cultivate her gift. She attended The School of the Arts in Rochester New York and moved on to the Eastman School of Music also in New York, as an Eastman Pathway Scholarship Student. There she studied vocal performance and piano, played many roles in musicals and received many honors.
Blair’s passion grew as she did and she knew she wanted to somehow make a difference. She began singing background for various artists, local and national. She also began writing her own music, composing for her peers and performing around the country. She was named “Best Female Gospel Artist” for the 2014 Roc Awards and was nominated for “Best Morning Radio Show” at the 2014 Rhythm of Gospel Awards.
Blair has a “big personality” as her friends so affectionately call it, so when the opportunity presented itself for her to have her own radio show (The Blair Monique Version) it was the perfect marriage of who she was organically and the world of entertainment. She has had the pleasure of interviewing legends and legends in the making!
Blair is also a wife, the mother of two beautiful children, and a makeup artist. Her single “Hold On” is now available for download, today, November 20th 2015, preceding her album in June! She wants the world to hear the the gospel of Jesus Christ in a very cool and exciting way.
In everything she conquers, her mission is simply that the world believe in the blueprint God designed for all of our lives. To live it daily, but more importantly to look like it.
