Joy EseOghene Odiete, AKA J’odie, is a gifted vocalist, songwriter, musician and jewelry designer. She was born into a Christian family to Bishop and Rev. Mrs. John Odiete of Christ Peculiar Church Int’l.
As a teenager, fresh out of college, she decided to “explore”, as she felt stuck in a triangular routine of the church choir, school and home.
This journey brought her to the West African Idols stage in 2007, where she came sixth. The competition opened a new vista in her life. J’odie, at the time, began to see the possibility of making a career out of music.
Her song, Kuchi Kuchi (Oh Baby) – released in 2010, which expresses love from mother to child, hit the airwaves and created a mark in the Nigerian music scene. Through that hit track, she clinched nominations and awards and went ahead to release a full album, titled African Woman, in 2012.
The journey of fame has taken J’odie through many phases, but the love of Jesus Christ has brought her back home.
J’odie is a moist clay in God’s hands, daily being shaped to spread the Good News through her God-given musical talents and many more being discovered.
Here is her latest single titled ”All of My Days”.
”God gave me this song to share with the world…I am grateful for the life and opportunity to SING!” – JODIE
