ARTICLE: God, The Chief Worship Leader (Part 2) | By Rev. Victor Atenaga | @atenagavictor |

God, the Chief Worship Leader…Exo 25:8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.

Exo 25:9 According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.

Moses was a man called by God to liberate His people from the Land of slavery – Egypt. The children of Israel had lived in slavery for over three centuries with a fixed mindset of what worship is. When God brought them out of Egypt He had to instruct them on how to worship Him. Moses got instructions on the pattern of worship and the type of worship. In the New Testament, God saves us from the slavery of satanic oppression and teaches us how to worship. Patterns and sacrifice are different from the old life of idolatry.

Many believers today, find Christianity too simple and ordinary to be as powerful as it is. They feel in order to work in power there must be something you must hold on to tangibly: You must perform some rituals. But God is saying that worship can only be carried out in spirit and in truth. You don’t need to hold something or tie something around your waist. It is simply your readiness to obey Him, exalt Him and allow Him lead at all times.

Hence, worship related words in scripture like, bow down, kneel down, lifting up of the hand, seek, knock, fawn, kiss, seem to be too ordinary. But God beats the wisdom of the world with simple things-Expressed worth born out of a revelation in a relationship – Worship.

John 4:22 -24
Vs.22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

Vs. 23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

Vs. 24. God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth. (KJV)

God is the maker of all things and deserves all the praise and glory. And he commands all of creation to worship Him. In all of creation man happens to be the most rebellious in this regard. The mountains, the field, the Oceans and the fishes in the Sea all adore Him.

I have heard people say that worship and praise is one good food God cannot give to Himself. This theology is faulty because if worship and praise are declaration of who and what He is in true essence, then who reveals these things to us? We do not live in the realm of God and lack the capacity to spy into eternal order of the Godhead. The Bible says that the love of God is shared abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit – Romans 5:5. Love not known, cannot be appreciate. We love Him because He first loved us.

Jesus came to show us the Father, and He said He is the way the truth and the life. This means the only way to please the father is to Kiss (Worship) the Son: Psalm 2:12a “Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little.” for this is the way to worship the Father. Our song only makes sense to Him when our heart is genuine towards Him.

It is the Father that came to us while we were yet sinners and paid the price for our salvation without our input.
When He died for us, He showed us His ability to save. When He heals us, He shows us that He is God our healer. When He supplies our need, He reveals Himself as the Lord our provider. These are the revelations that constitute the lyrics of our worship to Him and pull us to Him. Therefore I ask, when God reveals Himself to you, what is He doing? Praising and Worshiping Himself.

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: Psalms 40:3a.
Then GOD promises to love me all day, sing songs all through the night! Psalm 42:8 –MSG

God leads us in songs He rejoices over us with singing. Who do you think conduct your worship at twelve midnight when the devil tries to attack your family and you broke out in song? He is the one.

As for me, I hear songs and I sing them many times. So, for those songs I say, they were given and I did not write them. Song like You will Win, If only you knew, Majesty (Jesus is beautiful),O Lord my God I exalt you. It’s not by might, It’s not by Power: so many of them.

In the Old Testament, we read in scriptures of visions of Prophets who caught a vision of God and His glory in the Temple, and the train of His robe covering the entire space. This is an example of praise God gives Himself.
The word glory here is like a very beautiful flowing gown of a woman which talks of the display of splendor. I usually say that in true sense as controversial as the word beauty is in philosophy it is never quiet. Beauty is not silent in any way.

God and His glorious move in our lives and world each day, stirs up praises by showing forth His majesty.
Hence, Paul said in the book of 2 Corinthians 5:14 His love constrains us.

When you see the glory of God you begin to worship because we are the reverberation of eternal worship God Himself orchestrates.

Nothing surprises God, you could surprise the Angels , not God. Whatever you give, He gave it to you including the song. So, praise and worship must be deliberate just like the food you eat.

Have you ever heard the saying, “Praises hold the hand that holds the world?” If indeed God cannot give Himself some quality praise then man and the rest of creation would have been able to hold the Godhead to ransom and negotiate terms otherwise, His authority would betrayed.

God is God all by Himself and we are privileged to come before His presence. He is self sustaining, ever ruling, eternal creator and sustainer of all things. The one who does not need to inhale to survive. By Him do all things consist. Halleluyah!

God is the Eternal Chief Worship Leader!
