Music Video: Lanre Olagbaju – “Olorun Alaaye” [The Living God]

Meet Lanre Olagbaju: Born and raised in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Nigeria, Lanre’s interest in music started early. He was an active member of his church choir at age 7 and by the time he was 12, he was already leading his church choir. By the age of 20, he became a worship leader at Christ Eternal Life Mission, Ibadan. After University education, Lanre moved to Lagos and became a member of the Healing Streams…the music department of Daystar Christian Center, Lagos, Nigeria. A Computer Scientist by training and an experienced Banker, Lanre relocated to the United States in 2007 where he caught the vision to make use of God’s gift in his life. Lanre believes that Africans have a unique way of praising God which is why he has chosen to bring God quality praise the African way.

Following the release of the hit single “Swagger Backfire”, Lanre Olagbaju delivers yet again with the video of the album title track “Olorun Alaaye (The Living God). Shot and edited by renowned Minnesota producer Ben Hughes (Ben Hughes Studio), Produced by Wale Owoade and featuring Segun Oluwayomi (on Sax), “Olorun Alaaye” is an acoustic ballad in which Lanre Olagbaju distinguishes the Almighty God above all others…based on man’s attempt to appropriately worship a God so powerful. Sung in his native Yoruba language and subtitled in English, he describes the futile attempts at worship of lifeless gods such as “Ogun” and the likes and concludes that there are no words or means to express the greatness of the true living God, “Olorun Alaaye”. This video is sure to take you on a reflective journey to appreciate the greatness of the TRUE LIVING GOD, “Olorun Alaaye”.
